Centre du design de l’Université du Québec à Montréal
The Centre de design de l’Université du Québec à Montréal is one of the only venues in Canada to present exhibitions that illustrate historical and current trends in the fields of graphic, industrial and urban design, as well as architecture and fashion.
Founded in 1981 on the initiative of the professors of the École de design de l’UQAM, the Centre has produced more than 300 exhibitions, aimed at design professionals, students and the general public. For more than 35 years, the Centre has contributed to the development of a culture of design and its local and international influence, both through the prestigious exhibitions it hosts and through the creation of numerous travelling exhibitions, presented in more than ten countries, mainly dedicated to the recognition of Québec design.
Located in downtown Montréal, in the heart of the Latin Quarter and the Quartier des spectacles, it welcomes visitors free of charge to its 400 square metres of exhibition space, offers conferences and organizes special events from September to June.
