« Filmscapes » par Dawn Dudek au 63ème Festival de Cannes
April 13th, 2010 - May 22nd, 2010
Filmscapes are a series of paintings inspired by visual narratives found in film. The selected frames are removed from their cinematic timeline, then isolated and reconstructed creating a new composition
“Splitting and duplicating the composition is one of the most interesting aspects of my work. While making the subject matter more dynamic, it also represents the passage of time, the subjective recollection of memories and more literally the film frames frozen between one and the next.”
Dawn Dudek exhibits in France, Spain and Monaco. The last two years her paintings were shown at the prestigious Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris. In 2009 her artwork was displayed as part of the Canadian delegation.
