To enter Julien Sagot’s musical universe is to be in the heart of an airy atmosphere that is sometimes lascivious, sometimes overwhelming. At the Canadian Cultural Centre, the singer-songwriter will offer a show marked by electroacoustic music, a strong rock influence and multiple sound experiments. We invite you to discover this sharp-witted artist on January 12!
Although he first made a name for himself as a percussionist with the band Karkwa, Quebec artist Julien Sagot has been pursuing a solo career since 2012. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, over the years he has deepened the art of composition and perfected his guitar and piano playing.
In 2012, he released his first solo album Piano Mal on Simone Records, recorded at the legendary La Frette studio in the Paris suburbs. Two other albums followed, Valse 333 in 2014 and Bleu Jane in 2017.
In his fourth eponymous album, released in March 2021, the artist deepens his signature sound by presenting a work tinged with sensuality and an uninhibited pen.
He creates a world in which the audience is invited to dive in without restraint. With his deep voice and music that is both melodious and rhythmic, Sagot promises total immersion in his latest lively and intoxicating opus.
