Join us on Wednesday, December 6 from 6pm for the opening of our new collective exhibition at the Canadian Cultural Centre! Endless Variations is presented as part of the official programme of Némo – Biennale internationale des arts numériques de la Région Île-de-France produced by CENTQUATRE-PARIS, in partnership with Elektra (Montreal).
- OPENING: Wednesday, December 6 from 6pm to 9pm – Free entrance.

The world is speeding up, at the rhythm of its successive industrial revolutions, each producing many societal and aesthetic changes. It was in the 19th century that the serial treatment of subjects became widespread in painting, as if to better grasp every aspect of the subject. In an age of unbridled use of artificial intelligence algorithms in industry and art alike, it is more appropriate to approach many works through their multiple versions. Increasingly, artists are literally collaborating with programmes capable of generating their works in endless variations. It is up to them to interrupt the autonomous processes they have initiated when the results are striking. But what has been new in recent years is that we can all use such interfaces to, for example, refine our multiple identity profiles online. In this way, we have a certain closeness to the creations that come out of iterative or generative processes. “Endless Variations” should be seen as a workshop where the works are in the process of being created.
