From Coast to Coast, Canadian comics on the move
Angoulême International Comics Festival
Festival d’Angoulême
January 25th, 2024 - January 28th, 2024
From January 25 to 28, the Angoulême Festival sets course for the many territories of Canadian comics! In partnership and with the financial support of the Government of Canada, the Festival is decked out in white and red, and the finest colors of Canadian production, for a transatlantic voyage. In front of City Hall, the exhibition From Coast to Coast, Canadian comics on the move awaits you!
With its long history, iconic characters and essential authors, Canadian comics have made their mark across the country and around the world. At the crossroads of Europe and America, Canada’s 9th art has developed in the same way as the vast territory in which it is created and the people who inhabit it: with great diversity and immense richness. Like a series of postcards, From Coast to Coast, Canadian comics on the move invites you to explore the varied panoramas offered by current creation in this great country, through a selection of creators from all its provinces and territories. Emerging or established, Francophone or Anglophone, Indigenous or culturally diverse, these comic artists allow us to discover the vitality and plurality of today’s Canadian 9th art.
