Lick the Frog gathers artworks, objects, and ephemera shaped by experiences of dissociation and appropriation, dreams and social alienation.
Through Canadian artist Tiziana La Melia’s process-oriented approach, Anne Bourse’s intuitive practice, and Tania Gheerbrant’s historically grounded research, the exhibition unfolds issues and notions surrounding vulnerability, fantasy, mental health, subcultures, and anti-capitalist critique. The works disrupt dominant narratives of progress and care by interweaving fables, poems, and personal mythologies to articulate ways of expressing what resists articulation.
