Do you know Snow

In 1978, Michael Snow (1928 – 2023) presented his first French exhibition at the Centre Georges-Pompidou and collaborated with musicologist Daniel Caux on Do You Know Michael Snow?, a radio program for Radio France’s Atelier de Création Radiophonique. Long thought lost, this hybrid “listening exhibition” — combining critical commentary, sound excerpts, and music — resurfaced through the research project Zone grise de l’original (HEAD-Genève, 2022-24) before being re-staged in Geneva and Paris.

Now reimagined as a book-exhibition, Do You Know Snow? questions the nature of the work and the document, the image and its description, and the fate of art in an age of dematerialization.

Book launch, signing and conversation with:
— Pierre Leguillon, artist
— Jonathan Pouthier, curator, Centre Pompidou
— Roch Deniau, graphic designer

As part of the 4th edition of Offscreen, Paris.
