Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales
May 06th, 2014 - June 16th, 2014
The groundbreaking festival Les Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis presents unusual works, works that question the way the world works. This year, performing in twelve theatres, twenty-six companies from fifteen countries have been invited to share their impertinent and critical ways of looking at the world.
The festival features Kinshasa Electric, a new work by the Polish-Canadian artist and choreographer Ula Sickle who has once again worked with dancers from Kinshasa. Together, they will explore the most popular contemporary dance, taking as a starting point the local scene –that of both concerts and nightclub dance floors – where dance invents and reinvents itself.
