Short & Sweet – Session 9
The Embargo Project
Centre culturel canadien (Invalides)
October 06th, 2015
20:00 - 22:00
The Embargo Project is an anthology of five short films directed by indigenous Canadian women. Participating in a collective process, each director created a film under restrictions imposed on them by their peers. They thus encouraged each other to explore new creative territory.
The Embargo Project is an anthology of films by Caroline Monnet (Algonquin/Quebec), Zoe Hopkins (Heiltsuk-Mohawk / Ontario), Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers (Blackfoot –Sami / British Columbia), Lisa Jackson (Anishinaabe /British Columbia) and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril (Inuit / Nunavut).
Short & Sweet is a unique opportunity to discover new Canadian cinema through short films and, who knows, perhaps discover the next Sarah Polley, David Cronenberg, Xavier Dolan, Denis Villeneuve, Philippe Falardeau or Atom Egoyan.
