Slick Art Fair
Pont Alexandre III, Port des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris
October 20th, 2015 - October 25th, 2015
A special participation of Canadian visual artist and sculptor Guillaume Krick will be proposed for the tenth edition of the SLICK ART FAIR.
Building on the international recognition it has earned over the past ten years, SLICK continues to assert its position as a human-sized fair committed to the discovery of the emerging scene. Its selection of galleries and its programming reveals a qualitative rigour and an opening towards the International.
Guillaume Krick, La motte de DEEE, visual installation
One of Guillaume Krick’s fields of research is to draw on archaeology, following the example of “La motte de DEEE”, first produced at the Générateur de Gentilly (94) in 2012, then reactivated this autumn for the 10th edition of SLICK. This monumental installation is inspired by remains little known to the general public, feudal clods, military architecture and embryonic urbanism. Thus, by raising a drawing of electric wires and several cubic metres of computer debris that are relatively recent (1980-2005) but already too old for our society, the artist wishes to shift the very idea of the ancient vestige towards a notion of anticipation of the traces we will leave behind.
