Combining video installations and photographs, Toronto artists Lisa Steele and Kim Tomczak embark on a new phase in their twenty-year collaboration, exploring a delicate triad of fear, trust and death. Five works punctuate a journey where history and fiction interlace in a project where creation and critique coincide. In “…before I wake”, the duo’s artistic practice manifests the political dimension hidden within the expression of ordinary emotions.
