The 6th Festival du film canadien de Dieppe was held from 27th to 31st March 2019 in Dieppe.
A unique event in Europe, this festival showcases the diversity of English-speaking and French-speaking Canadian cinema beyond its borders. Each year are programmed a great variety of feature films yet unreleased in France that reflect the vitality of the current Canadian film production.
The Canadian Cultural Centre invites you to a special screening of Mon ami Walid by Adib Alkhalidey awarded the Grand Prix du Jury prize / Galet d’or” this year.
Synopsis: Walid works in a grocery store through an integration program. After a hard day, he tries to commit suicide. He is saved by Antonin, an extroverted employee who decides to follow him everywhere to avoid a tragedy. Together, they roam the city, meeting strangers along the way, as Antonin does everything in his power to restore the will to live to his new friend.
The screening will be followed by a conversation between producer Adib Alkhalidey and Nicolas Bellenchombre, General Delegate of the festival.
