Fête de l’anim’ – Masterclass Dominic Étienne Simard

La Fête de l’anim’ proposes a masterclass dedicated to the Canadian director and producer Dominic Étienne Simard. Those attending will be able to discover the major works and production secrets of this major name of international animation.
Born in Montreal, painter and photographer Dominique Étienne Simard has been directing and producing animated films since 2000. Winner of the Vidéaste recherché contest in 2003 and the prize for the best student animation film at the Festival des Films du Monde in 2004, in 2005 he received the Norman McLaren Prize for the best animation student at the Mel Hoppenheim cinema school. In 2006, he produced Head in collaboration with Félix Dufour-Laperrière, a film presented in more than thirty festivals around the world. In 2008, he produced and directed three new films, after four years of work: Let Me Do This One, Ingénue et Chromosome (X-Y-Z).
