Selected songs recital
December 28th, 2011 - January 07th, 2012
Théâtre du Rond-Point
Nothing is straightforward in the world of Lewis Furey. Neither in his career nor on his tours. Recital or show, concert or retrospective, the Selected Songs Recital marks the return of a great singer. His songs have been performed on stage and screen for nearly forty years. The music and lyrics are bathed in the light of the lakes and forests, or the nights of New York and Montreal. Furey, whom the English-language press has compared to David Bowie and Lou Reed, has travelled all over Canada, where he was born in 1949, then to Hollywood studios via the European rock scene. Four men’s voices, a woman’s voice and surprises. A repertoire that comes from elsewhere, transcending time and genres.
