Ginette Laurin
October 23rd, 2011 - October 29th, 2011
The Opéra National de Nancy presents Le Sacre du printemps choreographed by Ginette Laurin
Originally choreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky for Sergey Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, Le Sacre du printemps (1910–13) has since been revisited by the great choreographers, including Maurice Béjart and Pina Bausch.
Invited by the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine and the Opéra National de Nancy, Ginette Laurin will be the next renowned choreographer to propose her version. Under the musical direction of Tito Muñoz, the Choeur de l’Opéra National de Lorraine and the Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy will accompany the 25 dancers of the Ballet de Lorraine, brining together more than 70 musicians on stage.
For this major challenge, Ginette Laurin called on two Quebec collaborators: Marilène Bastien to design the sets and costumes, and François Marceau for the lighting. The first night will take place at the Opéra National de Nancy in October 2011.
