Ars Nova
Théâtre Auditorium Poitiers (TAP)
October 09th, 2018
20:30 - 22:30
Founded in 1963, Ars Nova is the oldest French contemporary music ensemble. Since the beginning of this year, Canadian composer Jean-Michaël Lavoie has been the ensemble’s artistic director.
The evening will take a form different from a traditional concert. It will feature the duo RUST – Montreal composer Jean-François Laporte and Frenchman Benjamin Thigpen – whose work features a blend of acoustic and electronic instruments, and. . . n i e n t e . . . by the Canadian composer Pierre Michaud. With a string quartet onboard, Ars Nova invites us to explore various media: video projection, 3D audio effects and vibrating objects.
Ars Nova will also be in concert at the Canadian Cultural Centre on October 11 and 12, 2018.
