On June 14 at 7pm, the Embassy of Canada to France and the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the OECD invite you to a conference on the environmental and human impacts of gold mining in Venezuela.
“Blood Gold: Human Rights Violations and Environmental Disaster in the Venezuelan Amazon” will bring together:
- Cristina Burelli, Director, SOS Orinoco, associate researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies
- Louis Maréchal, Policy Advisor, Extractive Industries, OECD
- Carlos Paparoni, Deputy of the National Assembly of Venezuela, expert on illegal financing issues
The discussion will be held in French and moderated by Ms. Adriana Mejía Hernandez, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OECD.
The conference will be followed by a cocktail.
