Carole Simard-Laflamme
March 13th, 2010 - June 13th, 2010
To May 30 in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and from May 19 to June 13 in Paris
It is with fabric salvaged from “Les robes du temps” (The Dresses of Time) that Carole Simard-Laflamme has produced “La robe cathédrale” (The Cathedral Dress), a monumental work, a part of which is presented at the Colysée de Lambersart in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, to May 30, within the context of the group exhibition “Robes rêvées” (Dreamed Dresses). The artist also presents “Le jardin de ma mère” (My Mother’s Garden), a more intimate work evoking her roots.
“La robe cathédrale” will have an impressive matching piece in Paris, “La robe des Nations” (The Dress of Nations), which will be presented at the church of Saint-Eustache from May 19 to June 13, within the context of the International Festival of Cultural Diversity organized by UNESCO.
