Since it was founded 40 years ago, Cinéma du Réel is the foremost documentary festival in France. Attentive to the diversity of writing, forms and ideas, it brings together a large audience, which is faithful, attentive and curious. For this 40th anniversary, the festival proposes a selection of films in competition, a retrospective of the work of Shinsuke Ogawa and an exhibition dedicated to Lyle Ashton Harris.
Don’t miss the Canadian in the competition: Song of a Seer (dir. Aïda Maigre-Touchet), Fail to Appear (dir. Antoine Bourges), Harvest Moon (dir. Zaheed Mawani) and A Skin So Soft (dir. Denis Côté).
