Cycle Ciné Amériques
September 25th, 2019 - December 18th, 2019
As part of the International Year of Indigenous Languages, initiated by UNESCO, the Inalco university (Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales) joined with the Amériques association to propose Ciné Amériques, a programme that will let the audience discover ten films in indigenous languages or presented by indigenous directors.
Maliglutit (Searchers) by Inuit Canadian director Zacharias Kunuk opens the cycle. Partly inspired by John Ford’s classic The Searchers (1956), the plot of this feature film takes place in Northern Canada in 1913.
