Damien Robitaille
Francophonie Month
Centre culturel canadien
March 18th, 2021
20:00 - 21:00
On March 18 at 8pm, as part of the Francophonie Month, the Canadian Cultural Centre invites you to a virtual concert with Damien Robitaille, a key figure in French Canadian music!
Born to an English-speaking mother and a French-speaking father in Ontario, he was 18 when he wrote his first songs in French. Since then, on piano or guitar, he has been a great defender of the Canadian francophonie, through his energetic and colorful music, with nuances of folk pop, and even Latin echoes.
The pandemic has inspired Damien Robitaille to perform more than 150 covers of songs (Queen, Daft Punk, Rita Mitsouko, Marvin Gaye, ABBA, Robert Charlebois and many more) on piano, drum, guitar, flute or beat box live from his living room. His videos have gone viral around the world because of the creativity and brilliance of their performer.
For a new concert live from his living room, Damien Robitaille will offer his original songs spiced up with medleys of his best covers of French songs. Why not have your say in his line-up? It’s easy: just vote for your favourite covers beforehand on our social networks (Facebook and Twitter). Get clicking!
