Dave Heath
Dialogue with solitudes
Le BAL – Paris
September 14th, 2018 - December 23rd, 2018
The American-Canadian photographer Dave Heath, who died in Toronto in 2016, holds a unique place in the history of American photography and was influenced by Eugene W. Smith and the masters of the Chicago school.
In the 1950s, he was one of the first to express the feelings of alienation and isolation inherent in modern times in such a radical fashion. The first major presentation of his work in France, the exhibition Dialogues with Solitudes brings together around 150 period prints and original layouts.
