Festival America – Espace Coeur de ville de Vincennes
September 26th, 2024 - September 29th, 2024
Every two years since 2002, the AMERICA festival has brought writers from North America to Vincennes. Over seven hundred authors from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Cuba and Haiti have come to meet their French readers.
For the first time, the 11th AMERICA Festival will be a forum for exchange and debate with writers from North America and nine European countries: France and its immediate neighbors (Ireland, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Portugal). A festival to reflect together on culture and literature, both plural and inclusive, both unique and universal.
Canadian authors Eric Chacour, Sébastien Dulude, Anne Michaels, Emmanuelle Pierrot, Emily St John Mandel, Jordan Tannahill and Deborah Willis will be present.
As part of its off-site programming, the festival also presents the exhibition “La forêt barbelée” by Quebec novelist and poet Gabrielle Filteau-Chiba. A tribute to the plants that grow and cover devastated woodlands like a bandage. To be discovered at Espace Sorano in Vincennes.
This festival is organized in partnership with the Canadian Cultural Centre
