Festival Clin d’oeil
July 04th, 2019 - July 07th, 2019
Festival Clin d‘Œil launches its 9th year from July 4 to 7 in Reims, with Canada as its guest of honour.
Created in 2003 and organized every other year by the association CinéSourds, the Clin d’Oeil festival aims at promoting the discovery of sign language in its diverse artistic forms throughout culture.
This year, Clin d’Oeil highlights the Canadian show The Black Drum which is presented for the first time in Europe. The Black Drum is an amazing soundless musical comedy! Written by deaf playwright Adam Pottle, it tells the story of a young woman whose life is radically transformed when her tattoos come to life and take her on a fantastic journey in search of her own inner music.
Deaf artists weave this tale together through dancing, sign-interpreted music, drama and onscreen projections.
