Iain Baxter& / Paul Raguenes
June 08th, 2012 - July 28th, 2012
BF 15, Lyon
BF15 will be bringing together two artists, Canadian Iain Baxter& and Frenchman Paul Raguenes, in an exhibition – & – which, as its name indicates, collects, adds and coordinates works that extend each other, face each other, echo each other.
Two-handed or four-handed works, in situ works, they question our way of inhabiting, treating and thinking about landscape, the environment and art. The two artists integrate language in their practice as a privileged mode of expression for attaining forms of sensory experience that go beyond the visual relationship to objects.
The artist who pioneered conceptual art in Canada, Iain Baxter& has been producing bold, singular and “sensitive” works that surprise and unsettle critics and the public alike for forty years. In the last few years, he has examined in particular the system of consumption and our relationship to landscape and the environment.
