The pianist Jean-Philippe Sylvestre lets us rediscover some of the key compositions of classical music.
The conductor Yannick Nézet Séguin, director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, calls him a poet of the piano.
A native of Ste-Julie, near Montreal, Jean-Philippe Sylvestre began studying music at the age of four. After obtaining an “Artist Diploma” from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, he went on to further training in Italy and Germany. In 2008 he was awarded the Virginia Parker Prize of the Canada Council for the Arts.
