From August 7 to 15, 2025, Courseulles-sur-mer and many other towns in the Calvados region will be the scene of the 20th edition of “La Semaine Acadienne”.
Created to pay tribute to the Acadian soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, and to celebrate the vitality of today’s Acadia, this festival, with over 12,000 participants, is the largest event dedicated to the whole of Acadia in France, and the flagship event of the summer on the Côte de Nacre.
For its 20th edition, “La semaine acadienne” will have the honor of welcoming , the famous singer Lynda Lemay (Quebec) accompanied by the great guitarist Jean-Félix Lalanne, Nicolas Peyrac (France – Canada) , the group Suroit (Iles de la Madeleine / Quebec) , La Morissette (Québec), Claude Cormier and Josée Lapierre (Iles de la Madeleine / Québec) , Folklofolie (Québec), Sandra Le Couteur (New Brunswick), Dave Lanteigne (New Brunswick), the dancers of “La baie en joie” (Nova Scotia); the musical “La voix de la mer” (Nova Scotia), Lynn Gaudet (Prince Edward Island) , Olivier Leclerc (France), the theatrical performance “La Sagouine”, Estelle Pagès (France), Terry Bradford and Sussie Arvesen…
The program will be rounded out by documentary screenings, animations, workshops, a parade of vintage vehicles, a “Life at D-Day” theme day, Canadian karaoke, workshops and a “D-Day” event.
Events taking place in : Courseulles-sur-mer, Douvres-la-Délivrande, Carpiquet, Beny-sur-mer, Bernières-sur-mer, Luc-sur-mer, Langrune-sur-mer, Saint Aubin sur mer, Authie, in Calvados.
