Rad Hourani is the first Canadian designer to be a “guest member” of the Fédération Française de la Haute Couture and the first designer to present a unisex couture collection in the history of fashion. This exhibition will feature designs from his new collection, shown during haute couture week in Paris in late January 2015.
Rad Hourani is not just a designer, not just a photographer, not just an artist: he is all of these things at the same time. All of his work is a careful examination of the body that highlights neutrality as a trait of the human being. The uniformity of his collection thus creates a language that is so distinctive that it defies convention.
Moreover, all of Rad Hourani’s collections are numbered in order to liberate them from trends and seasons so that they are of their time, both today and tomorrow. He advocates modernity for an odyssey without rules, genders, ages, seasons, borders, and conditioning.
