Théâtre des Champs Élysées – Paris
A heroic melodrama after the eponymous tragedy by Voltaire, and three years older than Otello, Tancredi was the first major opera seria by the Italian composer Rossini, just twenty-one years old at the time.
For this production, with Enrique Mazzola as conductor and Jacques Osinski as director, the title role is performed by the Canadian contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux.
