Un seul grain de riz
November 01st, 2013 - November 14th, 2013
Galerie Métanoia – Paris
The collective exhibition Un seul grain de riz proposes to make us rediscover the whole universe through a selection of small-format artworks. Each grain of rice, the Japanese say, is home to 88 deities. This popular saying refers to the 88 steps that are necessary to make rice before it is consumed. This symbolic number underlines the infinitely precious character of the smallest grain, the production of which has cost men so much trouble and effort.
Among the artists on display are Canadian artists Geneviève Saya Brillet with three abstractions on earthenware, and paintings by painter Isabelle St-Onge.
