October 03rd, 2009
14:00 - 18:00
2 pm to 3 pm: Introductory to Inuktitut, Module 2: An entertaining introduction to Inuit syntax and word-phrases. The Inuit language agglutinates morphemes and is therefore highly expressive. For those 15 years of age and over.
3:30 pm to 4:30 pm: Introductory on Inuit writing
Using a study guide, facilitators from the Inuksuk Association will introduce the public to the syllabic writing system of the Inuit from the Canadian Arctic. For anyone eight years of age and over.
5 pm: Metamorphoses, Inuit tales by Nathalie Krajcik, a storyteller from Quebec
In the snow house, a man sculpts the figure of a bird. It will soon be kept warm, hanging around the neck of a hunter. Why are all these figurines dancing in Noona’s dreams? How did the caribou become a caribou? These are strange, intense and cheerful stories from the polar world. For audiences seven years of age and over.
