La Nuit Boréale 2013
June 21st, 2013
Fête de la Musique – Esplanade des Invalides
Friday, 21 June 2013 – 6.30 pm to midnight
In association with partners and sponsors, the Embassy of Canada in France and the Canadian Cultural Centre will bring top Canadian talents to the Nuit Boréale concert, at the Fête de la Musique on June 21, 2013. The selected artists will perform on a unique stage, conceived for this special occasion by Dufour Spectacle & images, one of the top show creators in the world.
Hailing from various parts of Canada, this year’s artists embody the diversity of a creative, innovative, go-getter and fun Canada and will showcase a multitude of musical styles: jazz, folk music, electronic sound, art rock and many other genres.
So come and join us in a celebration of young talents such as “Marie-Pierre Arthur”, a rock and folk singer, whose song Fil de Soie has been selected in the 2012’s 100-Best-Songs ranking by the influential French music magazine Les Inrocks.
Come and get entranced by Braids experimental rock, art rock and shoe gaze. The group’s latest album, Conditions One, was released three months ago and was an instant success!
Come and get rocked by Basia Bulat’s folk songs. Her exuberant shows, her raspy voice and well-crafted lyrics are a trade-mark you will love! In the past, she has shared the stage with such famous bands as The National, Arcade Fire and Andrew Bird.
On June 21, 2013, on the Esplanade des Invalides, she will share the very special stage with other Canadian artists who are stars in their own right: Karim Ouellet, a music prodigy who likes to mix soul, pop, electro, folk, and rock. The result is a new, very personal and enthralling sound. Also to take the stage – by storm no doubt – will be Misteur Valaire, a versatile group, whose influence range from electro-jazz to hip-hop to rock and strange sound excerpts. Get ready for a new experience, and don’t miss the show, nor songs from Misteur Valaire’s fourth album, to be released in the Fall of 2013.
And as every great show needs an MC, we chose the one and only “DJ Dee“, who will pump up the volume and the energy for the longest evening of the year, Nuit Boréale 2013 at the Fête de la Musique.
