In this episode of Canad’Air, we take you to the heart of Canada, in the prairies of Saskatchewan.
Some 7,000 km from the Canadian Cultural Center, Shawn Jobin, through the magic of the Internet, greets us from Saskatoon in his recording studio that looks like a postindustrial warehouse. It is there, behind a wall of red bricks, sheltered from the freezing cold, that he is putting the finishing touches to his latest album … with has a title quite appropriate for our times… Distance!
We meet a deeply committed and sensitive artist that uses his sharp and sometime incisive pen to guard the richness of the Canadian Francophonie and well as exorcise his uneasiness. Shawn Jobin surrounds himself with other talented and eclectic French-speaking artists like the French beatmaker Ysos, the Quebec producer Real Mind and the Fransaskois composer Mario Lepage, alias Ponteix.
Hop on board this musical ride!
