Chloe Charles was born in Toronto but had the good luck to grow up surrounded by nature in Uxbridge, Ontario, which influenced her musical choices and the sounds that attract her today. In addition to her penchant for soul, pop and jazz orchestration, she developed a passion for strings and makes everything work together harmoniously in a timeless musical landscape. She is inspired by so many different styles, from chamber music to pop via folk, that her voice features some of their particularities.
An explorer of nature with a knack for the unexpected, her compositions deal with the discovery of oneself and the world, as well as with loss and discouragement. Her debut album Break the Balance, released in January 2013, illustrates this duality which exists in her.
