The Canadian Cultural Centre has invited Christian Globensky to explore its spaces on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.  Founded in 1970 and housed for almost 50 years in a private mansion on the Esplanade des Invalides, the CCC moved to the new Canadian Embassy in France in 2018. From May to October 2025, particularly in moments of change between two exhibitions, the artist will walk around, observe, listen, and produce a series of images, some of which will be published in postcards.

#1 “Wandering around in the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris, between two exhibitions, is an attempt to conjure up forms and images in a space full of possibilities, between a void left vacant and what is about to happen again.  It also means taking side roads, and always and again to get closer to what is to come. In the meantime, a momentary absence, or even, and this is even more troubling, an missing origin…”  (Christian Globensky)

#2 “There would be a vestige of the origin in the present moment, where, on the surface, there is nothing to see. It’s in this frame of mind that I wander around the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris between two exhibitions. Deciding that every click of my camera is an incursion into time, in one hundred and twentieth of a second, capable of capturing the origin of a different reality. An origin in the present towards an origin to come… “  (Christian Globensky)

#3 “First of all, there is the aesthetic impact, followed by abandonment in a time without depth, a time of origin from which the unforeseeable can emerge. This abandonment makes it possible to live in several simultaneous eras. It is in this posture that I continue my exploration of the Canadian Cultural Centre. The experience is born of an emergence of the present through my lens, which maintains time, a use of the present moment, a ‘time zero’, between two moments in time…”. (Christian Globensky)
