International Sign Language Arts Festival

From Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 July 2024, the 11th edition of the Festival Clin d’Œil will be held at various venues in Reims. Since 2003, the Clin d’Oeil Festival has been organised every 2 years by the CinéSourds association, which aims to promote Sign Language in all its cultural diversity and artistic forms.

This year’s program includes the international Sign Language show Usher: not the Singer by Canadian artists Jennifer Manning and Sarah Snively (both deaf people with Usher syndrome). Through their powerful performance art, a blend of humour, melancholy, optimism and poetry, they aim to deeply engage audiences by highlighting the complexities of this syndrome, its consequences and its impact on their lives. Their moving performances are designed to share personal experiences and perspectives on living with Usher syndrome, touching the hearts of all who watch.
