June 15th, 2011
19:30 - 21:00
The Canadian Cultural Centre is pleased to invite you to a concert by Duo Laude, made up of Elizabeth MacIsaac (soprano) and Pat Unruh (vielle).
Duo Laude presents a programme of sacred and profane medieval music. An invitation to discover medieval music in all its many forms – chanson pieuse, canon, ballade and the Kyrie trope – and multiple expressions – love songs and religious songs with French and Spanish influences.
Ensemble Laude, founded by Elizabeth MacIsaac in 1998, was the first medieval choir in western Canada. Always seeking out new musical projects, the ensemble gave rise to Duo Laude, made up of soprano Elizabeth MacIsaac and vielle player Pat Unruh. The two musicians convey their fascination for medieval music through its great richness and variety of forms, styles and expressions. After a series of concerts in France, Duo Laude released the album Stonecrop.
