Le miroir et l’encyclopédie

In partnership with the Canadian Cultural Centre
Organized by the StartE student association (master 2 Sciences et Techniques de l’Exposition Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne), the exposition Le Miroir et l’encyclopédie presents variations on Jorge Luis Borges’ short story “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius” about the discovery of Tlön, a mysterious world that is both real and nonexistent.
The exhibition explores Borgesian themes through works that call their own fictionality into question and deconstruct our relationship to a reality taken to be objective. Photographs by Canadian artist Sarah Anne-Johnson will be on display as part of the exhibition.
