The ninth edition of Festival America gives pride of place to Canada and its literature, inviting thirty or so Anglophone and Francophone Canadian authors, including Patrick deWitt, Iain Reid, Guy Vanderhaeghe, Nicolas Dickner, Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette, Naomi Fontaine, Nancy Huston and Dany Laferrière. Unable to attend the festival, Margaret Atwood will be taking part via a video linkup from Toronto.
“Scènes Canada” will allow visitors to discover Canada through the works of the invited authors, who will discuss issues touching on Canadian society, bilingualism and the country’s relationship to its First Nations. Concerts, film screenings and exhibitions by Canadian artists will also feature on the programme this year.
