Printival Boby Lapointe Festival 2024
25th edition

Pézenas
April 16th, 2024 - April 20th, 2024

AFFICHE BOBY LAPOINTE 24

From April 16 to 20, the 25th edition of Printival Boby Lapointe will be held in Pézenas: a festival which brings together artists, poets, composers and composers each year around a common denominator: the love of French-speaking songs!

This year, the Printival Festival will also celebrate the 101st birthday of artist, composer and performer Boby Lapointe. To highlight all the diversity of the French-speaking music scene, Printival is honoring French-speaking artists from Canada in its programming!

Friday 19.04 at 3:30 p.m. – Marion Cousineau (Quebec), Courtyard of the Hôtel de Fleets de Sébasan

The Franco-Quebecer Marion Cousineau has been carrying her songs on both sides of the Atlantic since 2018. She cultivates through her travels a desire to say and give, a capacity for listening and presence which make her concerts moments that we still live long after the curtain has fallen. Her universe is made of astonishing characters, of fleeting moments finely exquisite with respect and humanity. Alone on stage, on bass or piano, oscillating between gentle poetry and captivating slams, she offers a regenerating energy, a unique performance that we remember.

Saturday 20.04 at 3 p.m. (artistic showcases) – Benoit Paradis Trio (Quebec) and Keith Kouna (Quebec), Théâtre de Pézenas

Far from the dominant trends, the Quebec group led by singer, trombonist and multi-instrumentalist Benoit Paradis has been spreading their songs here and across the Atlantic for more than 15 years, skillfully mixing jazz, theatricality and poetry. As comfortable as in his living room, the funny singer surprises with his flights of scat and his exciting madness, married to the symbiotic chemistry he shares with his lifelong accomplices Chantale Morin on piano and Benoit Coulombe on double bass. The group presents here the songs from its 5th and most recent album, “La tête ailleurs”, released in September 2023.

Quebec artist Keith Kouna is one of these elusive characters, endearing in his audacity, who assembles a work where insolence nourishes beauty. After four highly acclaimed albums and an EP, a plethora of distinctions, tours across the Atlantic, the brief and spectacular resurrection of the cult group Les Goules and the children’s project Kid Kouna, the singer-songwriter relased a fifth album on March 24, 2023, entitled Metastases.
