Jean-Philippe Sylvestre

As part of the Jazzycolors Festival, Jean-Philippe Sylvestre’s classical programme will include some pieces by Gershwin and other composers who will bring in a jazzy touch to this recital.

In 2008, Jean-Philippe Sylvestre received the highest award granted by the Canada Arts Council, the Virginia Parker Prize. Also  a First Prize recipient at the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM) Competition, as well as the Radio-Canada and Concertino Praga Competitions for young performers. Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin calls him a “poet of the piano”. He performs regularly in Canada and around Europe.
