Sports in films! Plus vite, plus haut, plus fort : filmer le sport (Faster, higher, stronger: filming sports) is presented from September 12 to December 20 by the Cinémathèque du documentaire at Centre Pompidou. The Canadian Cultural Centre is screening the documentary Games of the XXI Olympiad produced by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB).
This feature-length film brings you back to the 1976 Montreal Olympics! Director Jean-Claude Labrecque immersed himself for 15 consecutive days in the international competition to look at it, in his own words, “from among the people”.
His film debunks the myth surrounding the Olympics by recording the simple facts as they happen daily.
Presented by Caroline Zéau, research professor and author of two books on the NFB.
Director: Jean-Claude Labrecque, Jean Beaudin, Marcel Carrière, Georges Dufaux
