After several remarkable exhibitions abroad, Kapwani Kiwanga presents her largest solo show yet at the Ferme du Buisson.

Kapwani Kiwanga creates systems and protocols that act like filters through which she observes cultures and their capacity for change. Her projects feature installations, videos, sound works and performances. Her work explores concepts such as Afrofuturism, anti-colonial struggles and their memories, as well as popular culture.

This project explores two themes: the magical powers given to plants in situations of political and social resistance, and the concept of Ujamaa, which was at the root of pan-African socialism.
