In the run-up to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, let yourself be transported on a “World Tour in a Day” through four routes in the heart of Paris to discover the world’s cultures. This journey will begin at UNESCO and end at Station Afrique, passing through some twenty foreign cultural centers and institutes in Paris.

Throughout the day, come to the Canadian Cultural Centre to discover the exhibition ” “Composition for an Ensemble, or The Spirit of The Games”, by leading filmmaker and digital artist Clive Holden.  The artsits is interested in the representation of celebrity and fame, and what surrounds it, the conditioning of our gaze in relation to this type of images, and the gaze of his fellow photographers and filmmakers.

There are several opportunities to take part in a guided tour of the exhibition at 11am / 2pm / 4:15pm / 7:15pm. Booking required

Also on the program are two selections of films on movement, dance and art from recent editions of the Festival international du film sur l’art de Montréal. For 40 years, FIFA has been dedicated to promoting and raising the international profile of film on art and the media arts in Canada

Programme :

  • 3 pm : Art in motion – (81 minutes)

For too long, art in motion has been reserved for bodies that have been normalised by a set of restrictive rules, leading to an idealisation and a representation of aesthetic, technical and performative “perfection”. Yet each body is a vehicle that is both intimate and political. This programme shows us fabulous bodies and minds in all their variety, expression and poetry, and celebrates the diversity that is also ours.

This “Bodies in Motion” programme is eclectic, sensitive and resilient, open to the world and to Indigenous cultures and realities. The works brought together have universal values in common – such as sharing with others or our complex relationship with nature and the world. Through poetry, dance, art and movement, they all give us a glimpse of the possibility of emancipation and empowerment.
