Eglise – Illiers-Combray 

On the occasion of the centennial of Swann’s Way, the first volume of Remembrance of Things Past, the Société des Amis de Marcel Proust et des Amis de Combray will be exhibiting the work Les robes du temps by Quebec artist Carole Simard-Laflamme.

In the church of Illiers-Combray, Carole Simard-Laflamme has chosen to list the periods of our lives in an ode to Marcel Proust by presenting a multitude of miniature robes-seeds as souvenirs, recaptured memories, snatches of life, and witnesses to joys and sorrows.

The exhibition Les robes du temps was inspired by Proust’s words: “I should construct my book, I dare not say ambitiously like a cathedral, but quite simply like a dress.
