On May 27 at 8pm, Canadian singer, songwriter and author from Ottawa, Lynne Hanson will be our guest at the Canadian Cultural Centre for a concert at the crossroads of blues, folk and country.
Known for her energetic live performances and virtuoso guitar playing, Lynne Hanson engages audiences with a healthy dose of humour, overwhelming charm and powerful vocals that reveal the poetry of her English lyrics.
In the 12 tracks of her latest album “Ice Cream in November” released in April 2022, Canadian singer Lynne Hanson pushes the influences of Americana music even further: from song to song, her style alternates between guitar-driven folk ballads and stormy country-rock tracks.
Ottawa native Lynne Hanson spent five years performing with musician Shane Simpson before launching her solo career with her first album, Things I Miss (2006). In 2010, she won the Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award for her song “Rest of My Days”, following a 2009 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination in the Emerging Artist category.
She won two Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2018 and the Folk Music Ontario Award in 2020, before being awarded a Juno Award in 2021. Today, the Canadian singer has released 8 albums and performed at numerous stages and festivals in Canada, the United States and Europe.
