Mitchell – Riopelle
Un couple dans la démesure

Like other famous artists, such as Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel, or Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, Canadian painter Jean-Paul Riopelle (1923–2002) and American painter Joan Mitchell (1925–1992) were extraordinary talents and romantic partners.

For the first time, an exhibition will retrace their respective artistic careers from their meeting in 1955 until their separation in 1979. This exhibition is organized in partnership with the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec with the support of the Art Gallery of Ontario.
