October 04th, 2014
19:00 - 23:59
A Nuit Blanche devoted to commemorations of the First World War with the special showing of all of the five 52-minute episodes of the documentary series Apocalypse, la 1ère Guerre mondiale.
This Franco-Canadian coproduction, made using over 500 hours of colorized archival material, often previously unseen, looks at the battlefields, the heads of government and soldiers, and everyday life on the home front. Nearly 650,000 Canadian combatants took part in the conflict, paying the heavy price of 173,000 wounded and 67,000 dead. The narration features the voices, memories and experiences of these men and women in order to better understand what led “yesterday’s world” to apocalypse.
Also on the programme of this Nuit Blanche, the exceptional opening of the exhibition Apocalypse–10 Lives.
