From March 14 to 17, 2024, Cosmopolis and the Cinématographe in Nantes will be hosting the Festival “Paroles autochtones. History and Literature of Contemporary Canada“.
The festival is devoted to the history, literature and cinema of Canada’s Francophone Indigenous communities, featuring interviews, discussions and film screenings with Francophone Indigenous writers and artists.
Also on the programme: exhibitions, readings and discussions with people from the academic, cultural and publishing worlds who are committed to understanding, promoting and disseminating Indigenous literature and artistic productions.
With artists Catherine Boivin, Sonia Bonspille Boileau, Carole Labarre, J.D. Kurtness, Virginia Pésémapeo Bordeleau and Louis-Karl Picard-Sioui; publishers Bruno Doucey, Amaury Levillayer (Dépaysage), Rodney Saint-Eloi (Mémoire d’encrier); researchers Maurizio Gatti, Sophie Gergaud, Franck Miroux and Jérôme Wilgaux.
