June 09th, 2010 - June 19th, 2010
Opening June 8, from 6pm to 9pm
The installation “Persona Très Grata“, features 12 large portraits (150 x 150) by the photographer Elodie Perriot. This is an exhibition of images and words, both solemn and cheerful. The portraits, taken in natural light, are impressive in their sobriety, elegance and strength. She has succeeded in capturing both the subtle fragility of men and women hurt by life and their evident dignity. Eyes call out to us and seem to say: “We want to be forces in our own lives. You will have to count on us!”
All of it is accompanied by a soundtrack of various recordings made in the facilities of l’Arche à Paris which welcomes people with a mental handicap in small structures that enable them to become integrated into the heart of the city and society.
Nicolas Favreau, curator of the exhibition, is the cofounder of Persona Grata, an association that helps make the voices of people with an intellectual disability heard.
